Plitvice Lakes

National Park Plitvice Lakes, the jewel and pride of Croatia's natural beauties, is situated in the heart of Lika, close to the Zadar region (about an hour by car from Zadar).

It is the most distinguished and most often visited of the eight national parks in Croatia.

The park has been inserted in the World Heritage List (UNESCO) back in 1979, among the first in the world.

There are lots of things to do, like:

  • Trekking
  • mountaineering
  • electric boat and train riding
  • photographing
  • cycling
  • skiing
  • rowing...

I prefer just relaxing, listen to soothing waterfall sound, surrounded by woods and fresh water, refresh myself .

Of course, this park are not only tufa-forming waterfalls of the sixteen well-known cascading lakes. There is also a rich cultural heritage, and very good tourist offer, especially good traditional food( I like this young cheesecaled "Skripavac". )
